I have wavy thick hair. I also color it, so it gets damaged. Would you recommend a CHI hair straightener to me? What are your comments/thoughts/reviews about it?

Hi, I'm looking into buying a new hair straightener. I don't want to spend more than $80. I go through them like crazy. My fhi one I had less than six months and it went out on me idk why, i only straighten my hair like two or three times a week. if that. I can get another fhi at discount price (since my last one went out so quickly) or i can get an ed hardy straightener. which i really really want. I have an obsession lol but I want to know if anyone has tried them?

I would really appreciate feedback, thanks! Don't suggest chi. I realize they're supposed to be amazing, but I've looked at them and I just don't like them.
My hair is always dry, I hardly ever put anything in my hair. Sometimes they get left plugged in, but not often. I'm very picky, my hair doesn't like to straighten unless it's super hot. Which may be the problem, I keep it on it's highest setting or else suffer through two hours of trying and still failing. But like I said, I only straighten my hair a few times a week. Sometimes I go a week or two without doing anything to it. My hair naturally dries somewhat curly it looks like I spend forever on it...but I just get out of the shower muwahaha XD

My friends and aunt all have CHI straightners, and say they work very well. I am considering one,but i have read reviews about that they break very easily... I want one that would be under $90 and would give the same, shinny effect as a CHI if you don't like CHI

There are so many different types, I'm not sure which one to choose. My hair is very thick, wavy, and long. A normal flat iron can't straighten it. Which of the Chi irons will work best for me?
