I know it can be used on both, but which is it made for? Does it work as a heat protectant? Also, I heard that it can be used for things other than hair.. Is this true?

I just bought the Chi Silk Infusion but i was wondering if it is used on wet or dry hair or both. Does anybody know? Or can i use it on dry hair and then straighten my hair?

I have extremelyy THIN hair and I have been straightening my hair with a CHI flat iron since 8th grade. Im in 10th grade now, and I've had a fighting battle with my hair not being able to grow any longer than about an inch below my shoulder. then I would have to cut it because of the split ends. I have always used heat protectants and have tried about a 3 different types. But none of them seem to work. But recently i haven't gotten a hair cut for almost 9 months ( I know thats a really long time span for not getting a hair cut) but my hair has only grown about 1 cm; basically none at all. And I only blow dry my hair when I have to get ready for school in the morning. and i try to section off my hair and i spray every section separately when i straighten it but still my hair doesn't grow. Is it because of my heat protectant not being strong enough to protect my hair? or something else I'm doing wrong?
Please Help!
PS: is there some kind of gel or shampoo I could use in my hair to help it get thicker and/or help it grow faster?

What straightening iron could be used in countries such as India, Maldives? CHI irons could only be used in US. I had difficulty in using them in Europe as well.

Are products like 44 Iron Guard & Silk Infusion by CHI supposed to be used on damp or dry hair, does it matter?

I left my Chi box and warranty paper at my dad's house, and of course, as soon as I move, it dies. Well, actually, it's just the end of the cord that's broke. I dropped the cord end (the little box with the red and yellow buttons) on the counter and now it rattles.
I looked into repairing it, and the only site I found was this:
