Would a Chi Straightner work for my hair?

I have Long, brown, super thick, poofy, curly hair. How long would it take to straighten my hair? I might get one for christmas but i dont want one if it's like all the other straightners because i hate curly hair. I want to beable to wake up everyday for school and straighten my hair. I've tired other straightners they dont work. I've tried getting it straight with perme solution and it dont work. So tell me about the chi straightner thanks.
