Why are Chi Straighteners considered so great?
I've seen people use them on youtube and praise them greatly but are they really worth the $100+? I have a crappy $20 drug store straightener right now which works, but if Chi straighteners are really THAT good I'd like to buy one

I don’t have a CHI, but honestly don’t see the big deal about them, but then again I have never used one…I have a $30 one from Wal-mart and it’s the best darn straightener I’ve ever used
they tend to thin your hair out while your straightening it and also keep your hair straighter longer, id definitely recommend one
susposedly, they keep your hair straighter and in better condition.
I dont see it, my sister has one and her hair looks horrible.
I have the inStyler and in my opinion, its better than the Chi.
I have the regular chi straightener. I love it. I have moderately curly hair, and this straightener is by far my favorite. It straightens 5X as quickly and reduces frizz. It also keeps your hair healthy and doesn’t give it the hideous “fried” look. I recommend it over chi nano and others because it doesn’t damage your hair as much. I recommend this straightener over any other.
Chi isn’t really a top rated brand anymore.
Sedu,FHI,GHD and Solia have that wrapped up.
My stylist used a chi, it was okay.
I have a sedu which works auuhhh mazingly better.
the thin plates on a chi break your hair off after awhile.
As a former salon manager, I can tell you that they are excellent to use. In fact, up until I started working there, I too, had just a straightener I bought at Walmart. If you have never used a CHI, I just have to tell you to go to a salon and ask them to let you look at the CHI, or have them show you how it works. It’s awesome at straightening, and you see instant results. Now, what I am going to tell you is that the CHI is not the only flat iron that is amazing to use. The reason why it’s so popular is because it’s the first brand to do what it does. It’s the name that everyone knows, so to speak. Is it the best? No. Not by any means. I have sold just as many Paul Mitchell flat irons, and have used them as well. I consider the Paul Mitchell to be the best that we carried. I had tons of CHI’s returned to the store. It seems the CHI’s lifespan is about two years. The company, Farouk, has even changed their warranty from lifetime to two years now. That should tell you something. At our salon, we had over twenty boxes waiting to be returned to the company. I never had one Paul Mitchell returned. Now, if you are looking for something good, with a fair price, check out Hot Tools. The ceramic irons are very good as well. Lots of salons use nothing but Hot Tools.
ghd is the best and its over 2 times the price of chi. It’s made of real ceramic not metal which damages your hair. it also heats in 20 sec. for people who have really curly hair high quality is better. I tried the crapy drug store ones and they don’t work for me
