chi flatiron??,,,…?
I've already bought one from eBay, and i know it is a real chi and such so its OK.
lol I've heard people say that they break easily. and way more people say they ROCK. I'm thinking that the people who say they break easily have accidentally bought FAKE chi's. anyways, i know the make your hair perfect and straight. my quiestion is, do they KEEP your hair straight throughout the day? i just bought one from ebay, making 100% sure it is a originaL CHI . lol anywayssss (i know it will kil your hair, by the way )

Yes it does keep your hair straight, but if it rains girlfriend its going back to curly!
My roommate has one… her hair gets kinda frizzy towards the end of the day, but that’s just her hair. When she first does it it looks great, stays that way till we get out of classes. She has very very thin hair.
I have very thick/coarse hair and I prefer my $20 straightener. I know everyone says they are amazing, but they just don’t work on my hair.
I think it just depends on your type of hair.
I don’t think hers gets as hot as mine.
It’ll keep your hair straight as long as it’s not too humid outside and/or your hair doesn’t get wet.
A lot of people think that because they’re using a ceramic flat iron that it won’t damage your hair; I’m glad that you know the truth!
Chi’s are actually crap. Just about every person Ive sold one to has eventually had problems with theirs. Just be very careful not to drop it because they do break easily. As for your question, use a light hold hairspray when ironing it and it should stay straight. Unless you live in the south like me and the humidity is horrible.
*** I just came from my supply house (a professional supply house) yesterday and the girl there told me they had just shipped 2 boxes full of broken chi’s back to the company…its not the best out there, trust me***

make sure to use products that prevent the flatiron from frying your hair. use heat stylers that you can put in your hair when damp and then after a lot of use, you hair won’t be as damaged!
yea they do work really well my friend has one and her hair is naturally really curly but when she uses the chi straightener her hair is like so perfectly straight….and it stays that way for along time if you put some of the products that you use after straighting your hair that makes it not get frizzy….(=
It does keep your hair straight throughout the day as long as the weather isn’t too humid & it doesn’t rain. Also if you just get out of the shower blow dry it, then straighten it that won’t work and your hair will get pretty frizzy.
But I have a chi & also had it for about 2 years now & it didn’t give me any complications whats so ever. Its amazing and truly the best hair straightening iron out there. Just make sure after you straighten your hair with it you have to put on this anti burning hair serum thing all over your hair otherwise it’ll cause serious damage for your hair & split ends.
Hope this helps you out a bit.
Now go give me my 10 points.
I was going to buy a chi but then one of my friends took me to a store that sells weave and other hair products and i bought an off brand their just wanting to try it out and it gets super hot and my hair stays straight all day. and i only paid $6.00 since these kind of stores are typically cutting out the middle man like sally beauty supply and making their prices cheaper. the brand is “gold n hot” if your chi doesnt work out and you would want to try that out.
I have an original CHI and my hair stays straight pretty much all day. My hair is naturally very wavy. I also use the CHI silk infusion, which really helps protect your hair from heat damage (which really is minimal anyway with a CHI since it uses ions and is ceramic) and leaves it a lot softer and shinier. I would recommend using a styling product such as a straightening creme also (I use garnier fructis leave-in straightening cream) on your hair after straightening (not the roots, it will look greasy!) to extend the style.
I’ve never heard of one breaking. I was a beauty advisor at walgreens and every one I sold the customers always came back satisfied.
Also I might add to NEVER USE IT WHEN HAIR IS WET! (unless it is the CHI wet to dry) The original CHI is not meant to be used on wet hair.
Everyone has their opinion and mine is that the genuine CHI Flat Iron by Farouk is the best. Farouk was the first to make a flat iron with ceramic and then everyone else jumped on the bandwagon. Always use a product designed for use with the CHI (my favorite is Options WIO Straight Balm). Put the product on dry hair. It protects the hair. I saw an answer that said to use hair spray. No, no, no. Even a good hair spray is not good for this and furthermore was not designed to be used in this manner. I have used the same CHI that I purchased 4 years ago on my hair and my customers which means it has been used a lot. I had one customers who bought one and brought it back because “it broke.” Sorry, they don’t just break. I think either the customer or one of her daughters dropped it. At any rate, I called my supplier who told me to box it and they would send me a new one with a label in the box to pay for shipping back the broken one. Try that with any other flat iron manufacturer and see what happens. Using the straight balm will keep your hair straight even in high humidity and most any situation short of your hair getting saturated with water.
i love mine, use it nearly everyday and love the way it makes my hair look.
i’ve had mine for nearly 2 years, hopefully it doesn’t have any problems like i’ve heard other people have had.
The chi is definitely better at keeping your hair straight, but it can only do so much.
I am on my third chi since 2001. I replaced the first one after 4 years b/c I was going to New Zealand for a month and had heard that using electrical converters could damage the iron. I purchased a new one before I left (and brought the old one with me) I didn’t have any problems with it during the trip and gave it to my sister when I got back (lasted a year or so more with her)
The second one I dropped a few times and one of the plates broke off.
I have had the current one for a little more than a year and its still working fine.
(they have all be the real chi)
